Christmas time is a fun time at the National Museum of Iceland with a wide range of exhibitions, lectures and happenings to reflext Icelandic Christmas traditions.
Christmas Program 2011
11 December, 2pm-5pm
Opening of the Christmas Programme. The Museum‘s Christmas exhibitions open. Family program from 2pm. The band Pollapönkararnir will play for our youngest guests. A secret guest will visit the Museum. Should we be scared?!
17 December, 1pm
Terry Gunnell: The Icelandic Yule. An illustrated presentation in English.
12 -24 December, every day at 11am
The Yuletide Lads will visit the Museum, one by one. Everyone of them has his own story to tell the children. This programme is in Icelandic, but everyone is welcome to join.

Knowing the Yuletide Lads
The museum's Christmas exhibition includes a Christmas House and objects concerning the 13 Yuletide Lads of Icelandic folklore. Guests can handle the objects, which will help them understand and learn the names of the Lads.
