A journey through the visual world of Iceland

At the Culture House, the exhibition Points of View – a journey through the visual world of Iceland is on permanent view. The exhibition gives visitors a unique opportunity to view the collections of six major Icelandic cultural institutions. Artworks of various styles and mediums are presented thematically alongside museum objects and archival materials such as books and maps.

The large historical building housing the exhibition dates to the year 1909 and is widely considered one of Iceland's most beautiful buildings. The exterior is quite impressive, but a visit inside to view the interiors should not be missed. Think carved stone pillars, original oak furniture, and black-and-white tiled marble floor. The exhibition provides plenty of fun educational activities for children and their families.

The exhibition is a collaboration between Iceland's three leading museums in their respective fields – the National Museum of Iceland, National Gallery of Iceland and the Icelandic Museum of Natural History – and the National Archives of Iceland, National and University Library of Iceland, and Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies.
