Symposium: Ethnography, animation and local community
On Thursday, September 19, ethnologists Joanna Kościańska and Justyna Orlikowska from the Ethnographic Laboratory Association in Poland will present the projects of the association in the lecture hall of the National Museum of Iceland.
The Ethnographic Laboratory Association is a non-governmental organisation bringing together ethnographers and cultural anthropologists, combining ethnographic research with local animation and education
During the lecture they will talk about few of their projects, showing use of ethnographic research methods combined with an interdisciplinary approach.
After the lecture, there will be an open space for all participants to share thoughts, ideas and projects regarding local animation.
The event is open to everyone, but museum people, ethnologists and others who work with ethnology in the local community are especially encouraged to participate and hopefully lively discussions will follow.
The event will take place in English.
